Dashboards and Charts
RAS 4.0 Dashboards may be configured to provide several key indicators oriented toward the work of a specific resource manager, project manager, program manager or executive. These provide a quick view into the status of various aspects of a project.
A project manager dashboard might be used to indicate variances,
providing a quick way for the PM to identify areas of concern with their
projects.
A department or resource manager dashboard might focus on the
utilization of various roles of resources within each department or
subdepartment.
RAS 4.0 Charts allow both interactive and static charts. Both utilize a common interface. Bar charts, pie charts and other formats are available. Data for charts is provided along with the chart. This allows further analysis in Excel or archiving not just the picture of the project at a point in time but the source data as well.
AdHoc charts are selected using the same style parameter form used
with reports. The user does not need to know which database the data is
located, they simply need to understand the meaning and value of the
data.
In addition to AdHoc charts using customer data, RAS 4.0 allows
access to prior versions of Project Server data. When organizations
migrate from one version of Project Server to another then often choose
not to include old projects in the new system. This historical data may
be included as another source for AdHoc charts, allowing continued
access to key information without the need to maintain a complete
Project Server environment in parallel with the newer version of Project
Server.
