Infrastructure

RAS 4.0 is designed to facilitate report, chart and dashboard generation for Microsoft Project Server. The infrastructure has been designed to support RAS 4.0 built in reports, charts, and dashboards. The infrastructure allows control of user access. Reports utilizing common parameters may be generated at one time, entering the parameters only once. Reports are generated and viewed through the RAS Desktop. Report notification emails, email of reports to authorized users, and routing of report output to SharePoint document libraries are built in features to help ensure the correct version of reports are utilized. Features allowing easy extensibility are also built into RAS 4.0.

The user experience may be tailored to the needs of the organization. Menus may be customized to highlight commonly used report types. The RAS configuration is data driven. XML or SQL data is used to control menus, report color palates, reports, parameters, security and other aspects of the configuration.
